Mans strive for flight has always represented a desire to do the impossible. It is hard to grasp the idea that there was time when this was only a concept. A list of failed ideas and a machinery that would be molded until the ideal silhouette would be found. More than wanting to achieve the impossible it was a need for efficiency and excellence. A better way to travel and an easier connect between cultures. Finding artists that create art with pieces that once transported people, gave me a need to design a collection that further manipulates those silhouettes into avant garde clothing. For this collection I wanted to manipulate the smooth geometrical outlines of an airplane and transform them into wearable pieces, using mirrored vinyl and acrylic to resemble the distinguished image of the airplane that allowed us to fly.
